MARVEL SUPER VILLAINS: GALACTUS
Here is a series dedicated to the kid in me. All things super hero. To this day I still have my comic book collection, each placed in plastic bags and boxed in my closet. With this summer being the Summer of Super Heroes in the movies, I thought this might be a fun series to put together. PLEASE NOTE: This is an industrial park and can be muggle heavy at times. Weekends would be the easiest time to gather the caches, though anytime would be fine. Parking should not be an issue and the critter factor should be low. I hope you enjoy this series.
Galactus is a fictional character appearing in comic books and other publications published by Marvel Comics, as an entity who devours entire planets. Created by writer-editor Stan Lee and artist and co-plotter Jack Kirby, the character debuted in Fantastic Four #48 (March 1966), the first of a three-issue story later known as "The Galactus Trilogy".
Debuting in the Silver Age of Comic Books, Galactus has appeared in over four decades of Marvel continuity, also starring in a one-shot publication Super-Villain Classics: Galactus the Origin #1 (May 1983), and the limited series Galactus the Devourer (September 1999 - March 2000). The character has been featured in other Marvel-endorsed products and merchandise such as arcade and video games, animated television series, action figures, trading cards, and a film, Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer.
In 2009, Galactus was ranked as number five on the pop culture site IGN.com's list of "Top 100 Comic Book Villains."
Galactus was created during the union between the "Sentience of the [previous] Universe" and Galan of Taa, and a herald with heightened perception of reality described him as "the physical, metamorphosed embodiment of a cosmos." Galactus considers himself a higher being than all non-abstracts, maintaining his existence by devouring planets that have the potential for supporting life. This has resulted in the elimination of entire extraterrestrial civilizations on numerous worlds.
Galactus wields the Power Cosmic and can employ it to produce nearly any effect he desires, including the molecular restructuring and transmutation of matter, the teleportation of objects — even an entire galaxy — across space or time, size-alteration, the projection of energy with indeterminable destructive force, the erection of nearly impenetrable force fields, the creation of interdimensional and intra-dimensional portals, telepathy, telekinesis, pyrokinesis, and a form of cosmic awareness. Galactus is also capable of creating sentient life, resurrecting the dead, manipulating mortal souls, memories, and emotions, and restoring dead planets and populations in every detail
