Geocache Description:

It's a beautiful walk down to Lundy Bay and neighbouring Epphaven Cove from Lundy Bay's National trust car park and there's a couple of other nearby caches to discover in the vacinity. Although exact co-ordinates would suggest the cache is just off the footpath it is actually securely stashed high n dry in the cave directly below this point. This cave can be accessed from either beach as it connects the two traversing the headland that seperates them.

A large cache in a watertight pelican case bolted high in the cave safe from the rising tide. It is just visible when you finally enter the bowels of the cave, so eyes peeled and prepare for some challenging scrambling/climbing. Torches, wetsuits and wetsuit boots advised especially if you enter the cave from Lundy (West-side) as you have to get wet (more exciting this way). Keep your eyes open and have your head for heights on, take a friend and tell others where you are going and when. Be very aware that this cache is potentially dangerous and only accessible at generally large low tides. The cave floods rapidly as the tide turns so double check tide times very carefully before embarking on this one. Great extreme mission if you combine this with our other local Cache: PolzyStack, time is of the essence though. Cache placed with kind permission from Tom Sparkes of the National Trust. tom.sparkes@nationaltrust.org.uk Direct line: +44 (0) 01208 863821 Mobile: 07981688165 Many Thanks.
