Geocache Description:


Aunt Bee’s cache is located at Washington Heights Baptist Church.  Turn into the main church entrance and drive straight to the back of the property and park.

This cache has been placed by permission from Washington Heights Baptist Church.

Sheriff Andy Taylor’s Aunt Bee lived with him and Opie keeping house and providing a mother/grandmother figure for Opie.  She doted over them and was an excellent cook except her pickles were notoriously awful.  Andy and Barney referred to them as "Kerosene Cucumbers". They devised a plan to dispose of 8 quarts of her pickles only to have it backfire!

Fun Fact: Frances Baviar played the continuing roll of Aunt Bee on The Andy Griffith Show and Mayberry R.F.D from 1960-1970.  She logged more Mayberry years (ten) than any other character.
