Cache is 5km from the end of Woatu South Road, or 10km from Waipapa Dam (cross the dam and park behind power house), near the 80m long Mangawera suspension bridge - an absolutely stunning place! The bridge is 42m above the water.
Track varies from steep sections/steps, to flat metalled forestry roads. At all times follow the River trails signage and blue marker posts. If travelling one way along the length of this section, a 50km one way vehicle relocation is needed (via Arapuni Dam).
For a one vehicle trip the longer distance from the Waipapa end by MTB is reccomended as it is mainly easy riding (push up one section with steps) and avoids a 2km uphill zig zag at north end.
If doing this, go an extra 500m north from cache to picnic table/views and small waterfall before returning same way.
