On August 18th,Geocachers unite to celebrate The 2th International Geocaching Day 2012. It's a day devoted enjoying what you love – Geocaching.
There's even a digital prize. Geocachers who log an "Attended" at an Event Cache or a "Found it" for another cache type on International Geocaching Day earn a souvenir for their Geocaching.com profile page. International Geocaching Day is the perfect occasion to hike with family and friends, enjoy the outdoors, and log one, two, or a dozen smileys.
This Geocaching Flash Mob Event takes place at 1:00 P.M.... sharp!
A geocaching flash mob is a VERY quick event cache, in fact, only 15 minutes long! The idea is to suddenly gather, conduct a quick meet, and sometimes a photo, then disperse as quickly as you gathered. It is important to not arrive at the GZ early! Walk around like a muggle, or wait in your geo-mobile until the time,1:00 P.M. arrives, Please Bring a 3x5 note card or paper signed with your caching name WITH YOU to the event.
To help with keeping it quick, the sign in process for the event will be as follows… Bring a 3x5 note card signed with your caching name WITH YOU to the event and there will be a box at the GZ to drop them off. This will be your “found it” log for the event. We will have extra cards and pens available for those that did not bring one. If your name is not in the box, you will not be allowed to log the event.
NOW for the down and dirty of the details for our event…
At 1:00 We will be using a horn to indicate the start of the event. Assemble at at the GZ. Start putting your 3X5 papers in the log box at GZ.
We will take a group photo, some chit chat, and before we know it, the horn will blow again at 1:15 P.M. to indicate the end of the event!
1:15 P.M. All cachers need to leave the GZ!
