Geocache Description:

This cache is located in Shawnee Springs Preserve. Shawnee Springs is the site of the largest field hospital during the Civil War. Part of this site contains wetlands area. The Sympetrum striolatum or Common Darter is one of the most common dragonflys. They have a preferance for breeding in still water but you may see one here.

Dragonflies are important predators that eat mosquitos, and other small insects like Flies, bees, ants, and wasps. They are also food for birds, lizards, frogs, and fish. Please don't try to remove the cache. You can access the log through the end of the abdomen.
