Bukit Patoi Recreational Park is located in the Temburong side of Brunei. There is a jungle trail about 2 km long leading to the summit of the Bukit Patoi hill. Bukit Patoi is interesting because there are many moss-covered rocks littered everywhere along the trail. The Wildlife is active in the early mornings and at night where one may find bears, Wild boars, clouded leopards and snakes.

Some of the interesting natural formation of rocks and/or trees found at Bukit Patoi are the standing rock wall and the Rock gripping Tree. The standing rock wall (Batu Berdinding in Malay) looks like a building that has been turned into a rock wall, You will be lucky to find bats hanging under the overhanging rock wall at the start of the rock wall. The holding rock (Batu Tergangam in Malay) is a rock which was gripped by the roots of a tree. It looked as though the tree had grown on the rock and its roots eventually found their way around the rock before they dug themselves into the ground.

Fungi

Can you see the Bats?
The cache is a small tupperware style square plastic container with a yellow lid and wrapped in plastic. It is located in a small hole on the rock wall approximately six feet (6') off the ground. Previously it was about eye level if you stand on a plank walk which has been dismantled.
Many different insects and plants were seen along the hike.
