Here's where the 'lakes' are on this stretch. Fonty Family tried to go on the side, but it swamped his bike trailer and everything got wet. LordEd and I hiked our bikes over the makeshift path that has been built on the north side of the trail, but footing can be difficult. I slipped and got bruised and bloodied. We couldn't tell how deep it was, but an ATV'er who passed us said it was to the top of his wheels. Pass through this section with a vehicle at your own risk!!
Hidden for the 2012 Okanagan CacheFest. You will be taken on a 16.7km section of the KVR that is not as heavily used between Myra and the intersection with FSR "Hwy" 201. You will pass McCulloch Lake (or Hydraulic Lake depending on your map) and Summit Lake.
Best places to park are at the east end of the Myra Canyon parking area near the cattleguard (GC3REH5) or near the junction of FSR 201 and McCulloch FSR where the KVR crosses it (off of Hwy 33) near GC3RNQB. We parked cars at each end.
When Fonty Family, LordEd and I hid these we rode our bikes. You MAY drive on this section of the old railbed, but I would NOT recommend doing it with anything low clearance. An ATV would be the best choice. There is a section where the rail bed becomes a fairly deep pond and you have to lift your bikes up and over a bank. At GC3RNPM you must exit the rail bed because there are no motorized vehicles allowed past this point, please respect this! There is an access road to McCulloch Rd. I'm not sure if this applies to the rest of the trail, but we never saw another sign. Somewhere by Summit Lake there's a large tree across the road that might even be difficult for a high clearance vehicle.
