A beautiful view of Onancock from the water...but no way to get there on foot (NONE)!
Part of Onancock is the experience on the water. People visiting the Shore are often surprised by the Shore's definition of a "Creek". The surprise of "kayaking on the creek" until you understand that here a creek is more of an estuary, it is salty and tidal and can be a mile wide at some points.
This cache can only be obtained by getting in the water. There is not good way to swim to it (though I presume it is possible), you'll have to have some sort of boat, kayak, canoe or SUP! The parking area gives you a good place to launch from, and kayaks are available here most of the year.
This is the first of several that we are going to have out on the water. I hope you enjoy the cache, enjoy the scenic beauty, the ospreys and maybe even see our resident bald eagle. Enjoy! GRATS TO LVSsciGuy FOR FTF!!
