7.15. Archive or unarchive a geocache
Archiving a geocache is meant to be a permanent action. Only community volunteer reviewers and Geocaching HQ can unarchive caches. This is done only in rare circumstances and only if the cache meets the current geocaching guidelines.

If a cache is archived by a reviewer or staff for lack of maintenance, it will not be unarchived.

Geocache Description:

The Northern Expressway (NXY) Powertrail was a series of 55 caches placed to highlight the Stuart O'Grady bikeway which parallels the Nexy.

We completed the powertrail in July 2012. It was lots of fun, but sadly the entire series was in need of maintenance. Many of the log books were damaged, missing, full or waterlogged. Despite this, the only one that had been archived was #35. According to the listing, the original had been muggled, then replaced by another cacher, then archived, then found a few more times.

As luck would have it, we happened to find a freshly discarded Eclipse tin where we left the car.  We decided that, since we had all of the ingredients, we'd hide a replacement!  We gave it the name "NXY (substitute) 035" and it served well for about 5 months until the entire series was archived in November, leaving only this one.

So now, we have renamed this cache to stand as a tribute and memorial to the original powertrail...at least until someone replaces them. Who knows? Maybe it'll be us! For now, enjoy this one.

Update: Our cache was muggled so we hid a replacement on 30/1/13 at the location of the original NXY 035 cache. Coordinates have been updated.
