Geocache Description:

An easy cache and dash at a handy layby. This is a busy road and there is no need to cross it. When you have found the cache turn around and face the golf course. look to your left and you will see a wooden building, this is The Blockhouse. built around 1939/40 to protect the coastline from camber north to Lydd north during WW2. a number of these along with gunpits were built along this stretch of the sand dunes. On the 22nd July 1940 residents of camber were told to move out of their homes and the army took over some had no where to go to and had to leave their belongings behind, they were allowed back in 1945 but many houses had been destroyed and some people had no homes left to return too. If you dont sign the log book then please dont log it online. thanks.
