They shall not grow old, as we that are left grow old Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn At the going down of the sun and in the morning WE WILL REMEMBER THEM (Extract from the Laurence Binyon poem For The Fallen)

This is a series of caches designed to remind us of the sacrifice given by members of the armed forces not just in the two world wars but in all wars since, and those still being fought. NONE of the caches are placed on any of the memorial sites but at a respectful distance.

No parking at cache site but several car parks within 5 min walk.

Opposite you is Torquay's Town Hall, completed in 1913, as well as several meeting rooms the town hall also boasts a large assembly hall, which during the 60's and 70's was used as an entertainment venue and saw several big names like The Who, David Bowie and Screaming Lord Such perform there. It is now mainly used for playing badmington and a weekly flea market. However during both the second and first world wars the assembly rooms were taken over by the Red Cross and used as a hospital for wounded troups. Manned by volunteers which during WW1 included Dame Agatha Christie who worked in the dispensary and gained much of the knowledge of poisons and medicines that went into her novels.

The area is a high muggle area during the day so stealth will be required, although a fairly easy cache it is placed high so wheelchair users will need assistance. Please ensure the lid is closed tightly when replacing to keep the log dry, thank you
