Poker Run 2012
Update 09/19/12: The poker run caches are hidden and I will post a link to the info very early that morning. There will also be copies at the COFFEE STOP. The coffee stop will be at the same parking for the event so that anyone meeting in the area can leave their cars. PLEASE only take ONE card for each REGISTERED cacher from each cache! You should show up with cards numbered 1 thru 5 all UN-OPENED. The winner's caching name will be verified... Other geo-games are ready to go as is most of the activities the park has to offer. There are also many new caches in the area if you have not been here recently.
Please remember that this is the BEE time of the year so bees are present around sodas and food. This is also Deer Hunting season in the area and most parks in the area allow hunting. It is only Archery so no real reason to wear orange but please be considerate of anyone hunting in the local areas.
When entering the park you will need to get a wristband for the day. The check-in for the event will be at the tented area where the log book will be located so don't forget to sign the log book. See everyone on the first day of Autumn....
I am going to keep everything the same as the past 4 years as everyone seems to have fun.I am however hoping for less water this year! It was really only 1/2 an event last year so that's why it is 4.5! I am working on some of the games and will post here as they are set.

Door prizes and raffles will also be going on.
Many cachers have asked for a way to help. Since the numbers for this event have mushroomed and keep climbing there will be a donation box to help offset some of the costs. Please give what you can or want as everything helps.
There will be a table for trackables so please bring them. I will have someone checking them in and out so that I do not have to explain to someone that their kids favorite toy is not still at my event and is probably gone for ever! Please make sure you electronicaly DROP any trackables that you are bringing so that they show up on the cache page.
I have secured the use of the facility at the listed coordinates. To make it easy and relaxing for everyone, ALL arrangements have been made for the GRUB (You will not be disappointed) and Activities. So all you need is your GPSr, yourself and your family of course!! There will be some Geogames and Door Prizes as well as many of the activities the park has to offer. This is not a public park so there will not be any muggle factor involved. However if someone needs to use this date as a raindate then there will be muggles around but the event will go on. You may also bring adult beverages (beer/wine) if you would like as they are permitted in the park. However, pets are not permitted so the geopup will have to stay home (sorry). So please bring your trackables and/or collections to share with everyone. There is plenty of space to relax and share stories and adventures. This will be rain or shine! Whether you like Paddle Boating on the Brandywine, Rock Wall Climbing, Mini Golf, Horseshoes, and Billiards or just relaxing with good company it should be a very nice time. There will be some new caches posted for the event. I will post more details as the date gets closer. Also, if you have not been in the area recently there are again many new caches nearby (you can walk to some) so please make a full day of it. Please be sure to post how many guests are coming in your “Will Attend” post so that we prepare the correct amount of food!! There will be something for everyone! PS: And the answer to your question. Yes this is all FREE!! There is no charge except that you show up and have fun!!! Hope to see everyone in September!
