Geocache Description:

A regular Lock n'Lock hidden near an interesting location

As I've driven past Great Wolden Edge I've often looked up onto the moor and wondered what's behind the wall visible from the road?
Eventually we parked up and had a wander, it'd been raining and the sight was very unexpected, a small oasis amongst the heather, a walled garden of green amongst the browns, even a thriving rhododendron!

The reason for this oasis was clear from the noise, a large trough with water bubbling up from the depths, only to crest the lip and plunge back into the darkness, doubtless something do do with the waterworks, but I have no idea what (aeration?)

After a few days without rain the view is less spectacular, but still pretty noisy.

The cache, when placed, contains a logbook with pencil, various swops, 1 TB and a copy of August's Ukcachemag.

The cache is NOT inside the wall, which is Yorkshire Water property (as is the land).

Children should be supervised as the works are unlocked, and could prove a real danger. That being said, it's still and interesting place.

This could be done as a park and dash, be aware there is a short hike on moorland involved so appropriate footwear is recommend, there is parking available nearby. There are various styles accessing the moor, if you find the right one you'll find a pretty easy path with steps up to the works, if you find the wrong one it'll be a more challenging walk :)

Many thanks to Yorkshire Water for giving permission to place this cache.
