American Beaver Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

GaTrailblazers: Due to local land owner(s) repeated, stepped up harassment of cachers and missing caches as of late, we have decided to archive this series to protect cachers and geocaching in general.

Although none of the caches were more than 5 feet from the road and trespassing wasn't required, this is the best decision for all involved. Thank you to everyone who came out to hunt these caches and to those who performed maintenance. It was a fun run!

Geocache Description:

This series aims to give you a little information about wildlife of the Southeast.

American Beavers are a rich, dark brown color. They have small eyes, ears and have short legs. They eat bark, twigs of broadleaf trees and stash branches underwater for winter use. They swim with only there head above water and slap there paddle shaped tail on the water loudly to warn family of danger. The American Beaver is the largest North American rodent. They live in ponds, rivers, nearby woods and are active mainly at dusk and at night all year round. They are rather shy.

Lucas/Cannon Road is rarely traveled but be aware of others who do use the road. You can pull over enough to easily not block the road to retrieve this cache.
