Geocachers unite on August 18, 2012 to celebrate the Second Annual International Geocaching Day. It’s a day devoted to enjoying what you love – geocaching. There’s even a digital prize. Geocachers who log an “Attended” at an Event Cache or a “Found it” for another cache type on International Geocaching Day earn a souvenir for their Geocaching.com profile page. International Geocaching Day is the perfect occasion to hike with family and friends, enjoy the outdoors, and log one, two, or a dozen smileys.
Thousands of adventurers will attend one of more than 100 International Geocaching Day events around the globe. The events range from Event Caches to CITO Events and include Mega-Events in Germany, Hungary, and the United States.
A Flash Mob is a large group of people who assemble suddenly in a public place, do something unusual for a brief period of time, and then quickly disperse.
You've heard of geocaching mega-events? This is quite the opposite in a variety of ways. It is sort of like a micro event, but with many of these events occuring world wide all at the same time. Flash Mobs have also gathered for other reasons, besides Geocaching. Come be part of this event! It's only 15 minutes long! You MUST be present (participating in the requirements below) and sign the log sheet at the intended location, DURING this time to claim the event.
The "2" difficulty is for the fact that the limited time will make it tough to log if you aren't prompt and sign a log sheet DURING this time to claim the event.
The nit and gritty:
1. At 8:00 am assemble at any spot along the pond and feed the ducks.
2. At 8:10 am make your way to the top of the dam.
3. At 8:15 am "SMILE" as we take a group photo and sign the log.
4. Now head to the CITO event!
FTF Rights will be given to the cacher that wears the most duck related attire.
