Geocache Description:

This cache was placed as part of the McHenry County Conservation District's Cache Your Way Across McHenry County program.  You do not need to be part of the program to seek this cache but please leave the informational card in the cache for those who are!

Glacial Park is home to a diversity of tree and plant life. Once of the most common trees in the area is the Shagbark Hickory. The nut for this tree is edible and has a very sweet taste. For what group was this nut a significant food source?

Site Closed Nov 29-Dec 2 - It is dangerous and illegal to enter the site during these dates.

Site is opened sunrise to sunset.  Please stay on designated trails until you are near the cache.

Glacial Park is home to the Lost Valley Visitor Center - stop in and check it out!  It is also a designated drop off spot for your completed Cache Your Way paperwork.
