Ellesmere Port is a very privileged town indeed; it is one of only four places in the North West of England that will hold a Paralympic Torch Celebration. This nano cache has been hidden near the town centre to commemorate the occasion.
The timetable of the day is as follows:
The day will start at 10.30am where Stage 1 of the relay starts from Sainsbury’s car park at Cheshire Oaks, with nominated flame-bearers carrying the flame along Stanney Lane to the EPIC Leisure Centre.
From roughly 11.30am-12.30pm, the EPIC Leisure Centre will host an event with the flame, including a swimming demonstration, disability cycling and disability football.
From 12.45pm Stage 2 of the relay starts from the West Cheshire College entrance to the main college building.
Finally from 1-4pm, the main celebrations at West Cheshire College will commence. Many sporting events will be held along with dance demonstrations by local groups.
If anyone is lucky enough to find the cache when the torch is in town, it will be a true spectacle and you may even see a glimpse of the torch from the cache site. It is located in muggle central and from August 2012 until mid September, there are roadworks right by the cache site. The works do not affect the cache but you will have extra muggles from the workforce.
