Geocache Description:

This is the second in a series of five caches placed along the Trail of Tears that was the route used for the removal of the Native Americans from their homeland to Oklahoma.

This is one of the cemeteries that is along the Trail of Tears that passes through Southern Illinois. Local tradition says the Cherokees found a warmer welcome in the Brownsfield community than elsewhere.  Supposedly the trail ended here as their final resting place.  Along Rt 146 are signs pointing out the Trail of Tears.  This particular location is designated as a historical marker.  You will be driving the original route.

Take time to study the vast amount of information that is available on the internet and elsewhere to enhance your time spent on the "Trail of Tears."

The cache is camoed to match its surroundings.  A arrowhead that I made is for the FTF.
