Geocache Description:

I hide placed in support of making GC34YJM a wee bit more challenging.  This should get you page 4452 (2009 map book), in a smidgeon of Carroll County.

There are a variety of ways to approach this hide.  First off, park where we suggest.  There really isn't anywhere else to park that isn't on private property, and the hide is only a short walk away.  You may encounter any of the following enroute to the cache (if it listed here, we saw it): Dragonfly, cow, butterfly, racoon, magpie, queen anne's lace, bittersweet, oak, SPIDERS!!!, popeye.  You will need to cross one country road, please take care when you do so.  While there are good sight lines for both drivers and walkers, searching from the road is not recommended, nor necessary. There, now we've told you way too much already.

Black ankle vineyards is near by, and well worth a visit if that is your sort of thing.  Since you will park on Black Ankle road, we might as well tell you how it came to be named that way.  Seems around these parts, many, many moons ago, what is now Black Ankle road was really more of a footpath down into the nearest village (maybe Mt. Airy?).  I could get muddy at times, and well, that leads to...you guessed it...black ankles.

As with all hides, please stop and think a moment before you go after this one.  The terrain and difficulty ratings are based on the approach we took, which used appropriate measures of risk management and common sense.  We know that common sense is something of an oxymoron; not everry one has it.  You'll do whatever you gotta do to get to the cache if that is your motivation.  Just remember, you and only you are accountable for what happens to you as a result of your approach and search method.

Have fun!

Initial contents were a fifty cent piece, an unactivated pathtag, and a couple of lovers in a tryst.  FTF will know what we mean when they get there.
