Continuing along the River Soar from Abbey Park, you have gone beyond the National Space Centre and Abbey Pumping Station, and are now approaching Belgrave Hall Museum, not far now to Watermead Park. A very nice route for a walk or cycle ride.
You now have reached a footbridge which takes you across the river and continues on its way to Watermead park. Cyclists could choose to continue along the road following the official cycle path, but I would recommend the much more scenic route along the canal which you reach by crossing the bridge then going under it, to the path by the river.
