This is our first multi and is set around the area of Matua.
I have made it pretty easy as I wanted this to be fun so the locals will probably know the locations of most of the waypoints by the description but it would be cool for you to do all of the questions as it is set up.
Ok for this one all you do is go to the first waypoint answer a question and do a bit of math’s (yeah I hate math’s to) this will give you the answer to the missing part of the next waypoint.
I look forward as always to your comments about this cache.
Waypoint # 1= S 37° 39.943 E 176° 08.335
This is the start of the trip through this great part of Tauranga and is the site of the old Otumoetai rail station and now has the community gardens within the same site.
When you come off the roundabout of Otumoetai and Ngatai roads the reserve is on the left as you go over the rail bridge on Otumoetai road.
This part of Otumoetai road (that turns into Leavers road) is the only road in and out of Matua so you can’t get to lost doing this multi.
Question # 1:
The year the rail station was opened?
Answer: 19?? – 959 = AAA

There I was thinking that this reserve was just part of Fergusson Park. I didn’t know that it has the same name as the road it is on.
It is a great walk through to Fergusson park.

How many minutes’ walk is it to Fergusson park?
Answer: ?? + 481 = EEE
Waypoint # 6 = S 37° 39.716 E 176° 07.EEE
Ok you are about half way through this multi and I hope that I haven’t driven you bonkers.
You should still be in Matua (if you aren’t then one of us has got this completely wrong sorry) and be at Fergusson Park.
This has to be the jewel in the crown of Matua and has heaps of people that just drive on past all the other locations in the area to go here.
I could go on about the different activities and things to do here but I don’t have space on this listing to ramble on about this great space.
Take the time to have a look around at all the different stuff happening from time to time or simply relax and enjoy the ever changing views.
Question # 6:
On the side of the Otumoetai Sports and Recreational Club building is a sign that has the main groups that share this fantastic facility.
