Geocache Description:

This micro can be found at a hidden beach at a dead end where sunbathers used to tan in the nude. Elevation: about 1 to 5 feet depending on the tide. Its a short walk from the end of the road on the beach. Be careful if you walk on the smooth sandstone. Its slippery when wet and can really give you a bad wound if you slip and scrape yourself. Recommend you do this during day hours and low tide.

Here on the Koko Head side (eastern end) of Waikiki lies the dormant volcano, Diamond Head. Diamond Head was given its name when someone discovered there what they thought were diamonds. Actually, the stones were calcite crystals which were formed by the volcanic action which formed the crater. Here the crater meets the sea and we can look up to what was once the ramparts of Fort Ruger with its watchtowers and machine gun posts high above us. The eruption which formed this crater, known by the kanaka ma'ole, the native Hawaiians, as Leahi or the brow of the ahi tuna, produced another form of crystal. It can be found on the beach where this cache has been hidden. The green sand is called olivine or peridot and has been used to make jewelry sold in Hawaii. This area of beach is known for its windsurfing while the slopes round it for mansions owned by Arab sheiks and assorted multimillionaires. There is also a memorial to aviation pioneer Amelia Earhart who was last heard from over radio here. I had to move the cache due to muggles and again because of rock slides. DO NOT LOOK IN HOLES ON THE CLIFFS.
