M.V. Plassy ship wrecked on 8 March 1960. With a crew of 11 it ran onto Finnis Rock carrying whiskey, stained glass, and yarn. The crew were all rescued with the assistance of local islanders. The ship now sits on the shoreline and is a tourist attraction. For more information see here.
