In November of 2006 Salt Spring Island Parks and Recreation /CRD negotiated for the preservation of the existing trail network on undeveloped areas in Channel Ridge at the north end of Salt Spring Island. In June 2010 an extensive trail system with routes to suit all walking/ hiking levels was mapped. Six access points to the trails and signage in the form of marker posts was established.
The park is a natural forest area with lookouts west over Sansum Narrows to Vancouver Island and east over St. Mary Lake to the lower mainland and coastal mountains. The trails are groomed and no bushwacking is necessary. No motorized vehicles are allowed. Well behaved dogs are welcome.
This cache is located approximately 1 kilometer from the parking area. The trail has some rough stairs at the beginning, and some steep inclines along the way.
The cache is in a round container with a logbook, pencil and some perinent swag. We encourage you to be creative if you trade items.
