The South County Trailway is a 14.1-mile (22.7 km) long trail stretching from Van Cortlandt Park in The Bronx to Elmsford in Westchester, NY. Construction started in the 1990s and was completed in 2011. Most sections of the trailway are paved.
Poison Ivy is very common along this trail, but I did my best to avoid it.
The cache is a camoed micro container. This one should be just off the path. The deer trails should lead you close to GZ.
I would love to believe that the mounds have a good story, or are a pile of ruins, but I am pretty sure they are just extra dirt from an old construction job. They form a nice little secluded spot though. Be warned, we experienced bounce here.
Parking is available at the posted coordinates. There is also local street parking where you can find it.
