Geocache Description:

This year we will be doing a scavenger hunt/poker run/road rally as well as a skill challenge at the park. Check in and registration will begin at 8:00AM with the Rally beginning at 8:30AM. Bring a friend (new cacher, old cacher) Bring the family pet (on a leash of course), heck bring a Muggle (no leash required ) The more the merrier.

NBGA does ask that you do bring a food item to share with the other Cachers at the end of the Rally. Registration will close Sept 12 so get in before than. Bring your lawn chairs and tell us your tales about Caching. Only a good sense of humor and a willingness to make new friends is required to Participate. The Pot luck Rally is a rain or shine event. Every Car must have an Odometer that can be set to 0 (Zero) for the start of the rally. The Road Rally will combine your ability to follow directions a challenge for some of us Cachers . It will require you to find items and answer questions. You will have your Geocaching skills tested by having to find a poker hand tossed in to make it interesting. The Rally will consist of approx a 140 km round trip by car and 5 small hikes 10-15 min each (not including searching time) it should take around 4 1/2 hours to complete. If you don’t have a vehicle let Komsa4 or Missytake know and maybe they can match you up with a car that has an extra seat or two. All Cars must be back to GZ by 1pm for the start of the pot luck and Prizes awards. For anyone that has never done a road rally don’t worry we’ve never made one up, So, We made our own rules up which will be provided at the registration time. THE RALLY IS NOT A RACE There is no prize for 1st to finish although you do have to finish at the allotted time. This is a friendly competition between Cars and Cachers. Each Car will have a Designated Driver and Navigator (they cannot be the same person) and assorted others inside. Each Navigator will be given a set of instruction before the start of the race so you must find the NBGA table and register before start time. Using only the Directions given, the Navigator will guide the driver with turn by turn instructions to each point. To complete the course you must answer the questions at these points correctly while acquiring items on your scavenger list. You will also be asked to Use your Handy Dandy Trusty GPS to hunt down the elusive poker caches on some of the local trail systems around the area. Prizes will be awarded for the 1st 2nd and 3rd place Cars/Teams.
