This is the fifth in a five series of caches calling attention to the removal of American Indians from their homeland to Oklahoma. It is called the Trail of Tears because of the number of Native Americans that died during the forced march.
The harsh winter and conditions on the Mississippi River prevented crossing the river until ferries could operate. The campsite was near this location. The cache is located in a rest area. It is camoed to match its surrondings.
Please take time to do a little research as it will add to your Geocaching experience.
