Geocache Description:


This is the second in the" Unknown" or "Mystery" level of the Agony of Defeet series. Like most of the other A of D series caches, this is sports related and has footwear that relates to the individual being described, as the cache container.
Marion Ladewig, who many call the "Queen of  Bowling", certainly did her part to make Grand Rapids famous.  She was born in 1914, and though she excelled in many different sports, she decided bowling was her "calling", even though she only bowled an 80 in her first game!  That didn't deter Marion however, as she went on a roll and won more than 25 different awards and was elected to more than five different Halls of Fame.

Don't FAULT by going over the listed latitude and longitude lines.  The cache IS NOT THERE!  You will find the cache by solving the puzzle listed below.

The cache can be found at N 42 AB.CDE and W 85 VW.XYZ

Marion had the national women's high average in 194A.

She retired from professional competition in 196B.

Marion's bowling career began in 193C.

She placed 4th in the Associated Press' Woman Athlete of the Year in 19D1

Marion was elected to the Grand Rapids Sports Hall of Fame in 19E2.

She was inducted into the WIBC Hall of Fame in 196V.

Marion was voted the Michigan Woman Athlete of the Year in 195W.

She was inducted into the International Bowling Museum Hall of Fame in 199X

Marion was voted Female Bowler of the Year Y times.

Marion died on April 16,2010 at the age of 9Z.
