This is a fairly simple cache in low density bushland in the residential area of Prestons. It sounds from recent logs that the track may have become overgrown.
This area was originally part of the Cabramatta farm settled in the early days of the colony. The creek 400m west of the cache still carries that name. After a subdivision of the land, it formed part of the Horningsea Park estate. Later, the land was egg farms and general small farmlets. In the 1990's, Prestons was a major residential development creating the current suburb.
This cache is in the last patch of bushland in the area. It is a haven for native birds with Magpies, Peewees, Rosellas, Red-Rumped Parrots and a resident colony of Lorikeets who engage in a loud battle with Noisy Minor birds each morning.
The land was earmarked to be a primary school however it has recently been released for residential development. The area south of the cache will be houses in the future while the area to the north will remain public reserve.
The cache container is of medium size with camo to blend into it's surroundings.
The area has a generally low muggle population except for times just before, and just after, school on weekdays when it can be a thoroughfare.
For easy access, park at either the western end of Manar Place or in Braidwood Drive near the roundabout at Bumbera Street. Parking on Bumbera Street is not recommended because if you come in from that side you have to bash through lantana.
