Geocache Description:

This cache is located in the beautiful valley between Senez and Barreme in the High alps of Provence. This area is extremely famous for its geology and richness of fossils. as well as being part of the Route Napoleon when Napoleon marched his army northwards from the south coast. It also played an important part in World War Two as being a centre of the French Reistance.

This Nano cache is located very close to the hiking path on the Route Napoleon through the valley as well as on a path that goes to the Ravin du Riou d'Ourgeas which is a lovely hike with a secluded river by which a picnic can be enjoyed and then continued onto the ruined village of La Melle. Most of the ruined villages in the mountains here were used by the French Resistance during World War Two.

Please note: The cache is not far from a road and can be travelled to by car however if hiking here in the summer please ensure that you have plenty of fluids as the area can be very hot. When I placed this cache it was 35 degrees centigrade.
