The Oliver Canadian Pacific Railway (CPR) Station was in use by the CPR from 1923 to 1977.

The Kettle Valley Railway was given federal charter in 1901 and was leased by the CPR for 999 years in 1913.  It maintained a separate corporate identity for operations and employee seniority until the Kettle Valley Division of the CPR on December 31, 1930.  Its Status as a subsidiary ended in 1956 when it was formally absorbed by the CPR.  The Kettle Valley was built by the CPR to connect its mainline with the trackage in the Kootenays by a direct route along the southern border of BC.  The line in Oliver was laid in 1922.

- 1921 - Construction of the Oliver CPR station began.
- May 24, 1923 - The first CPR passenger train to arrive in Oliver.
- Facilitated shipment of perishable fruit and vegetables to Vancouver.
- 1931 - CPR leased the line.
- October 31, 1934 – Oliver’s CPR station was no longer seasonal.  Up until then the Oliver station was open only during the summer months.
- July 5, 1977 - Last train through Oliver (the tracks between Okanagan Falls and Osoyoos were closed).
- June 21, 1978 - CPR received approval to abandon the line between Okanagan Falls and Osoyoos.
- 1979 - Tracks were pulled up.
- 1980 - CPR station closed.
- 1982 - Station moved 200 yards to its present location.
- February 1983 - Open house was held, astonishing many people with the amount of work that had been accomplished.
- May 7, 1983 - The official opening of the renovated CPR station in Oliver, BC.
- Sept 19, 1988 - Fire partially destroyed the CPR station and nearby boxcar which was in the process of being restored.  The station had been moved and renovated by an enthusiastic group called Save Our Station and the Heritage Society, starting back in 1980.
- May 29, 2002 - The Town of Oliver repaired and refurbished the existing CPR station that was previously damaged by fire.
- Current - The Oliver CPR station is home to the Oliver Visitor Centre.

The Oliver CPR station sits on the International hike and Bike trail on the banks of the Okanagan River.  The trail runs from the head of Osoyoos Lake through Oliver and ends where Hwy 97 crosses the river north of Town.  The trail has both paved and gravel sections and is 18.4 kms long!

The CPR station is also a popular spot to watch the Okanagan Sockeye run.  There is more information on an info plaque behind the station.
