Geocache Description:

Park at WP1, which is a rock shelf near the road, a 120M stroll from GZ.  The road is too narrow and dangerous to park directly at GZ.  This is a fairly easy find at a beautiful little spot on Tourist Road that most people ignore as they roar above it at speed.  The road is suitable for any vehicle and it's a mostly flat scrub walk from WP1 to GZ, but the final approach to GZ requires a little sure-footedness.  Please be careful with geokids and geodogs near to the road.

My friend Denis is slowly becoming enamoured with Geocaching, and his extensive local knowledge of the area has revealed some interesting spots to place new caches.  This is one example, where a natural feature and an interesting bit of civil engineering combine to make a quite beautiful but largely ignored location.  We called it Platypus Pond, sadly not because he's ever seen a platypus here, but because it seems such a perfect spot for one to hang out.  So let us know if you see one!

The road is surprisingly busy and most people carry a fair bit of speed along this stretch.  So park safely out of the way at WP1 and walk to GZ.  As you approach GZ, keep on the grass, but near the left edge of the road, and you should see a path of sorts leading down towards the flat rock at GZ.  I'm told there can be quite a bit of water flowing here after a rainy spell, but that shouldn't trouble the cache too much.

** Congrats to teambuxton for FTF! **
