Mid North Coast Camp Out. Event Cache

This cache has been archived.

Mid North Coast Mob: What wonderful weather for such a great weekend, and to be able to catch up with so many geocachers. Not just local ones, but quite a few came from a good distance away to share in the experience.
While one area could have improved with a bit more ventilation [:I] there wasn't much actually said about it, and hopefully it will be rectified soon.
A BIG thanks to Ray, Peter, Chris and many others that helped with the initial reccie, and then the organising of the Event.
Certainly the children seemed to enjoy each others company as well.
Hopefully we can have another before too many years have gone by. Till next time [:D]

Geocache Description:

The Mid North Coast Mob welcomes all interested and adventurous geocachers to a camping event on the banks of the Camden Haven River just south of Kew, for the weekend of 29 & 30 of September, 2012.

We have secured a rustic camp site on a farm property which is fronted by the river on three sides. There is a large undercover communal area with a BBQ, chairs and tables. There is also a very basic toilet and shower (well not the hot and cold running water type of shower – but it does shower!) Wood for fires is available as long as we replenish whatever we use. A chainsaw and an axe will be provided.

Caravans and trailers are welcome and can easily get down to the camping site, but if it rains it sometimes becomes a bit slippery and difficult to get back up the hill, however we have access to a tractor and a few 4wd’s to assist in getting vehicles out if necessary!

There is a small fee for the use of these facilities which has been set at $10 per group per night. All fees paid will go to the owner of the property who is allowing us to use this fantastic camp site which is dog friendly, child friendly, boat and kayak friendly and the river is full of crabs and fish.

So come along and enjoy Spring in one of NSW’s premier districts – we should have a lot of fun and there is also a rumour that there may be a camp oven cook-off competition!
