Geocache Description:

This shouldn't be a tough find. However, keep an eye out for neighborly muggles. I placed this cache here because it is close to a weight loss facility that has helped me tremendously!

This cache was placed for a variety of reasons and due to a few inspirations. First of all, I'd like to say that my favorite thing about geocaching is exploring new places, even in my own town. My second favorite thing about caching is meeting and interacting with other cachers. This is partially the reason for this cache.

I recently picked up a TB in Memphis, Tennessee. It was a memorial bug for a boy who died at the young age of 14. As soon as I logged it, the boy's grandmother and TB owner messaged me from merry ol' England. She thanked me for picking up the TB and wished me and the TB well on our travels. I responded and this went back and forth a few times. I continued on my road trip, allowing the TB to visit caches along the way. Then I got another message from her after I had checked the TB in at a cache on the Florida coast and New Orleans on the same day. That day happened to be the boy's birthday. We enjoyed the fact that he got to see some pretty cool places on his birthday. Then she mentioned that in her working days, she used to fly to Texas from her home in England for work. She worked for an oil company and she always stayed at the same hotel in Katy, TX. I googled it and realized it was just off I-10 and we would be driving right by it. I also realized there was a cache in the parking lot. I told my mom I'd like to stop there to check the TB in at the place his grandmother visited in Texas. I took a picture of the TB with the hotel in the background and emailed it to her. She appreciated the gesture and then told me that she has a geocaching blog that she writes that is regularly featured on a few caching sites. It's under the title The Ramblings of a Man Pensioner. It was there I read her blog on May 29, 2012 called The Mad Geocaching Pensioner- Why and How. I discovered she is hilarious and has used caching as a way to get active and lose weight. I urge anyone finding this cache to take some time and read through her blogs. She's definitely a Lightweight Champion! And BTW, after traveling with her TB for a couple of months, I dropped it off at the Groundspeak HQ in July.

The second primary inspiration for this cache is my own journey to drop a few pounds! I'm hoping this will not only give me some motivation, but to also keep me accountable. I know you all out there want some more caches to find! So I'm going to place a cache for every couple of pounds I lose. Here's hoping that you all get some more caches to find!
