Geocache Description:

Welcome to the periodic table of the elements powered trail. There's 113 caches to each represent each element on the periodic table (until new elements are added). Many thanks to Blakids for creating a great SOR series in Perth and maintaining it through 2017. Thanks to all the volunteers in 2018 who have adopted the maintenance of the series to keep it going.

For simplicity sake only elements approved by the “International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry” will be included in this series.



Pure tungsten is a steel-gray to tin-white metal. Tungsten has the highest melting point and lowest vapour pressure of all metals, and at temperatures over 1650°C has the highest tensile strength. The metal oxidises in air and must be protected at elevated temperatures. It has excellent corrosion resistance and is attacked only slightly by most mineral acids. Source: Webelements.

The cache containers are small tubes as shown in the picture below


These containers have only a logbook inside them and no pen/pencil. Please make sure to bring a pen.

This power trail starts at Mount Henry Bridge and continues south down the freeway cyclepath. This power trail is designed for bicycles or walkers and will be extremely hard, if not impossible for drivers. There is however a car park and a playground near the start.
