SWE: Gamla Gefle, även kallat reservatet, är en del av stadsdelen Söder. År 1940 antog stadsfullmäktige ett beslut om rivning och ny bebyggelse på detta område. Riksantikvarieämbetet framhöll dock att inte bara enskilda hus utan att även några av de gamla gatorna i hela sin längd borde få behålla sin prägel. Detta bland annat för att bevara själva principen för stadsbebyggelsen med anor från 1600-talets gatunät och 1700- talets sätt att bygga. Stadsfullmäktige antog förslaget till denna ändring i juni 1944.
Fastighetskontoret började 1955 renovera byggnader i området, som fick namnet Gamla Gefle, och 1966 gjorde en restaureringsplan. Staden avsåg att behålla några av fastigheterna att upplåta till konstnärer och konsthantverkare. De flesta lägenheterna är renoverade, har modern standard, men med välbevarade äldre fasader och bibehållen karaktär.
Gamla Gefle består av ett 60-tal fastigheter, varav något enstaka hus är nybyggt. Gatorna är belagda med kullersten och gamla gatlyktor ger gatorna elbelysning.
Startkoordinaterna tar dig till Källtorget där vandringen börjar. Här fanns tidigare Islandskällan som finns utsatt på den första kartan över Gävle från 1640. Här hämtade Gävleborna vatten. 1702 kom regler om att man inte fick skölja kläder och fisk här. Källan lades igen 1883 och syns i dag bara som en halvcirkel i vit gatsten. Nu finns en fontän av Christian Berg på Källtorget. Den stora almen som står här på torget är en av Gävles äldsta.
Vid fontänen hittar du det första numret som behövs för att lösa denna uppgift. Fortsätt sedan vandringen enligt pilarna på kartan så kommer du att få se det mesta av den fina stadsdelen. Speciellt ska du hålla utkik efter de detaljer som du ser på nedanstående bilder. I nära anslutning till dessa kommer du att hitta nummer som behövs för att till slut hitta gömman. ENG: Old Gefle is a part of the district of Söder. In 1940, City Council adopted a decision on demolition and new construction in this area. National Heritage Board stressed, however, that not only individual houses but also some of the old streets of the entire length should retain their character. This was done to preserve the principle of urban settlements dating back to the 1600's street grid and 1700s way of building. City Council adopted the proposal for the amendment in June 1944.
Real Estate began in 1955 renovating buildings in the area, which was named the Old Gefle, and in 1966 did a restoration plan. The city sought to retain some of the properties to lease to artists and craftspeople. Most apartments are renovated, has modern standards, but with well-preserved older facades and maintaining character.
Old Gefle consists of about 60 properties. The streets are paved with cobblestone and old streetlights provide electric lighting.
Starting coordinates take you to the Källtorget where the trek begins. Here was previously Islandskällan, exposed on the first map of Gävle from 1640. Here fetched the citizens of Gävle water. 1702 came rules that you could not wash clothes and fish here. It was closed in 1883 and today only a semicircle of white cobblestones is left. Now there is a fountain of Christian Berg on Källtorget. The big elm tree that stands in the square is one of the oldest in Gävle.
At the fountain you will find the first number that is needed to solve this task. Continue the trek according to the arrows in the map and you will see the most of the nice neighborhood. In particular, keep an eye out for the details that you see on the pictures below. In close connection to those you will find the numbers needed to finally find the cache.
