Welcome to Gates Oregon, Population 495. This cache is designed to be kid friendly and also, a quick grab for those traveling through the Santiam Canyon. There is an area to walk your dog and stretch your legs. You are welcome to visit the gazebo and drinking fountain (to the west). This area is home to Boy Scout Troop 449, and the closest troop to Camp Pioneer (which was founded by Victor Groening, the father of Matt Groening, the creator of the Simpsons).
This is a great geocache for kids and is filled with prizes. The container is a 2 gallon bucket with a screw top lid, so please make sure it is tight when you are finished so others can enjoy this as well.
If driving, I would recommend parking near the flag pole in the parking lot.
