Lower Snake Trail runs up from the Powerline Trail and connects to Function Junction at it's top end. From there continue up along the Upper Cut Trail for more caches and a longer loop. Don't the caches along Function Junction too!
The Nerdfrogs love hiking around Burnaby Mountain and my kids have been travelling these trails since before they could walk. Thought it would be nice to add another level of fun for the young (and the old) cachers alike. All my caches on this mountain are of the larger size and pretty easy to find - the challenge is in getting to them! They are a few meters off the main trails to avoid muggling and EASY bushwacking will be required only a few meters.
Those not familiar with Burnaby Mountain, it is a forest in the middle of the city! If you want to get out of the city for awhile, but don't have time for a lengthy drive, this is your place! Burnaby Mountain trails are popular with mountain bikers so always keep an eye out for them and step off the trail if you hear them coming - especially on the weekends. Trails here are steep in sections and rough in places, but make for a really fun and vigorous hike, even for young kids.
As always, please watch for muggles before and during cache grab and always make sure to replace the cache container as you found it or better.
