[EN] The archaelogical excavations here show that Catunas Hill was populated at beginning of the iron Age by the hallstatt civilisation whitch existed from the 12th to 8th century BC. During this time the first fortification system was built consisting of the exterior wall of the fortress. The fortifications was strengthened by consolidating and raising the level of the exterior wall and strengthening the margins of the superior plateaus. Terraces for both defensive and housing purposes were also constructed during this period. The fortress was conquerred and mostly destroyed during the Roman - Dacian wars at the beginning of the 2th century AD leading to its evacuation and abandonment.

[RO] Cetatea dacică de pe dealul Căţânaş - Tilişca. În anii 1957-1958 a fost reperată şi identificată aşezarea fortificată dacică de pe dealul Căţânaş. Ea ocupă platoul superior al dealului şi se întinde şi pe pantele de vest şi de nord ale acestuia. Au fost descoperite şi cercetate două turnuri-locuinţă. După căutări amănunţite, s-au găsit atât bani străini cât şi bani ştanţaţi acolo. Cetatea dispare în timpul războaielor daco-romane de la începutul secolului II d.Chr.
