Geocache Description:

A short, easy multicache in the premises of the Athenσ Medical School .
Μια απλή πολυ-κρύπτη στο χώρο της Ιατρικής  Αθήνας.


The Medical school of the University of Athens was founded in 1837. During these 170 years it has been highly active not only in national level but also worldwide. During these years its contribution has been invaluable in the areas of Education, Research, Clinical Medicine and Social Welfare. The Athens Medical School has been listed among the most awarded Medical Schools worldwide. Today 4000 students are registered in the school.

To find the cache use the given waypoint to enter the University premises. You can take bus no 622, 815, 140 and 230 to get there. The bus-stop is Laiko Nosokomio (=Hospital) or Agios Thomas.There is a guard but the entrance is always allowed. Then go to the above-given coordinates and look for the engraved name of the person in the statue and the 4 engraved sayings around it. If you speak Greek, it’s interesting to understand their meaning.

To find the final coordinates, you have to add up the total number of letters in each saying and answer one question. The total numbers of letters you can read in the saying on the northern side is the letter N, on the southern side is the letter S, on the eastern side is the letter E and on the western side is the letter W.

The question is: How many E can you see in the name of the statue? The answer is the letter Z.
 
Now you have to make some calculations. They are simple enough because our knowledge of Mathematics is really lousy!

The final coordinates are:

N37 (Sx2)+7.Z(Wx2)+9    E023 (Nx2)-3.(Ex52)-4


The cache is a micro magnetic. While searching, please, mind the numerous muggles that may be watching you and hide the cache safely again!
 
 
 
Η Ιατρική Σχολή του Εθνικού και Καποδιστριακού Πανεπιστημίου Αθηνών ιδρύθηκε το 1837. Στα 170 χρόνια λειτουργίας της έχει παρουσιάσει ενεργή δράση στα δρώμενα της χώρας μας αλλά και σε διεθνές επίπεδο. Κατά τη διάρκεια των χρόνων αυτών έχει επιτελέσει πολύ σημαντικό εκπαιδευτικό, ερευνητικό, κλινικό και κοινωνικό έργο και συγκαταλέγεται σήμερα στις κορυφαίες Ιατρικές Σχολές παγκοσμίως. Σήμερα είναι εγγεγραμμένοι στην Ιατρική Σχολή περίπου 4.000 φοιτητές. 
 
Για να βρείτε την κρύπτη, πρέπει να μπείτε στις εγκαταστάσεις της Σχολής από το σημείο που δίνεται παρακάτω. Εκεί μπορείτε να φτάσετε με τα λεωφορεία 622, 815, 140 και 230, στάση Άγιος Θωμάς ή Λαϊκό Νοσοκομείο. Υπάρχει φύλακας αλλά η είσοδος επιτρέπεται πάντα. Προχωρήστε στις συντεταγμένες που δίνονται παραπάνω και βρείτε το εγχάρακτο όνομα του προσώπου που απεικονίζεται στο άγαλμα και τα 4 εγχάρακτα ρητά γύρω του. Αν καταλαβαίνετε λίγο τα αρχαία, η σημασία τους έχει ενδιαφέρον.

Για να βρείτε τις συντεταγμένες της κρύπτης, πρέπει να βρείτε το άθροισμα των γραμμάτων κάθε ρητού και να απαντήσετε σε μια ερώτηση. Το άθροισμα των γραμμάτων στο ρητό στη βόρεια πλευρά είναι το γράμμα Ν, στη νότια πλευρά το γράμμα S, στην ανατολική πλευρά το γράμμα E και στη δυτική πλευρά το γράμμα W.

Η ερώτηση είναι η εξής: Πόσα Ε υπάρχουν στο όνομα του αγάλματος; Η απάντηση είναι το γράμμα Ζ.
 
Τώρα πρέπει να κάνετε τις πράξεις, Δεν είναι δύσκολες, γιατί στα Μαθηματικά είμαστε σκράπες!
