"Conroe's Switch" Letterbox Letterbox Hybrid

This cache has been archived.

Team Troglodyte: I've given this some thought and decided that although the area is not fenced, not posted with no trespassing signs, not daubed with purple paint, and I have not been told by anyone who appears to have any control over the property that they consider access to be trespassing, I will archive the cache rather than cause another cacher to have an unpleasant experience with law enforcement. Thanks to all who visited and especially all those who left a favorite point behind.

Geocache Description:

A letterbox nestled in the pines within the city limits of Conroe, TX, a city originally known as "Conroe's Switch. "

Parking is on the southbound turn-around for Loop 336. Park on the right (west) shoulder of the turn-around, approximately abeam the merging lane road sign.

From the roadside, proceed west (280° M) along the power line easement for approximately 100 orienteering paces.  This will bring you to a rusty and slightly unusual "No Trespassing" sign.  Do NOT cross the fence - there's no reason to go there!

Turn 30° left and follow the faint track along the fence for approximately 20 orienteering paces.

Turn your back to the fence and walk five paces into the woods.  On your right you will see a large fallen tree.  Proceed to the root end of the tree, and with the roots at your back and the trunk pointing away from you, walk forward three paces.  The cache will be on your left.

As with all letterbox hybrid caches, the stamp and stamp pad are NOT swag and must remain in the cache.
