Geocache Description:

You're looking for a Lock n' Lock.

"Venture into a rugged and remote tract of forested hills and wetlands at the edge of historic Tyringham Valley." That's what the The Trustees of Reservations website says about McLennan Reservation.  Caches have been placed with approval of The Trustees of Reservations.

The McLennan Reservation covers rugged terrain, including the summit of Round Mountain at 1,580 feet and Long Mountain at 1,950 feet. Situated in the saddle between these peaks is Hale Meadow. This is a former beaver impoundment (Hale Pond) which is now reverting into an open wetland. A portion of the reservation lies at the base of these uplands in the Tyringham Valley and you will be hiking a moderate trail in this area.

The trail is easy to follow and well marked for the most part with white blazes. At the parking area you will find the a Trustees sign with the normal verbiage about rules etc. (The Reservation is open from sunrise to sunset by the way). I think it's easier to go left at the sign but since it's a loop trail you can go either way.

The trailhead is located on Fenn Rd off of Main Rd in Tyringham. I can drive my Toyota down Fenn Rd to the listed parking area (same as for McLennan #1) but a high clearance vehicle is best if you have one. No bushwhacking is required.  Most caches are 50-60 feet or less from the trail. The GPS signal is jumpy in many places due to the terrain.
