The Adam T. Bower Memorial Dam (formerly known as the Sunbury Fabridam) is the world's longest inflatable dam. The dam is located just below the confluence of the Western and Main Branches of the Susquehanna, between the town of Shamokin Dam and the city of Sunbury.
The dam is 2,100 feet (640 m) long. When it is raised in the summer time, it creates the 3,000 acre Lake Augusta, which is used for recreation.
At parking there are picnic tables and a pavilion to enjoy the area. Bring a camera. The area provides some beautiful natural-made and man-made features. The area can be loaded with muggles and you could be on stage since there is only one way to GZ. Therefore use descretion when hunting and some cachers may have to return at a later date to get the cache.
Walkway to GZ is unlevel and could be very slippery and icy at times. Be careful and attempt at own discretion. Also cachers do not need to cross fenced area.
Congrats to mellie123 on the FTF!!!!!
