This cache is the first in a series placed along the Fox River Pathway. The pathway is 30 miles long and takes 3 days to hike. It begins just north of the Seney Township campground and ends at Kingston Lake campground. The pathway can be accessed from many of the old logging roads in the area. At various points the pathway runs along the Fox River, the West Branch of the Fox, and the Little Fox. The pathway is little used. I have walked it several times in a series of day hikes and have never met another person. The path is marked with a series of blue dots painted on trees and blue diamond shaped markers. By the middle of summer, the pathway becomes overgrown in spots with ferns and can be difficult to follow.
Clyde Lake is a small lake with the trail running along its length. It is a very pretty little lake. While I was hiding this cache, 2 beavers kept a close watch, frequently sounding the alarm with loud slaps of their tails.
The road has some sandy spots, but should be OK for most vehicles.
