MILE MARKERS:
These cement markers, at one point where painted a bright yellow, they indicated mile after mile of Fraser Highway, reminding people how far they had come, and warning them how far they had to go. But time and development soon took over, and the cement mile markers were lost - their purpose no longer useful. Those that still stand are now gray in color, their paint faded, some taken over by bush, or sunken into ditches. The markers were originally put in place when the highway was built in 1931. Mile zero was the main post office in Vancouver. The measurements ran east, along Kingsway and eventually crossed the Fraser River and extending all the way to Hope..

During my search for mile markers from Langley to Hope I have located quite a number of them, I searched for this one thinking it might still exist and although I found # 59 and 60 and beyond, I somehow missed this marker.
Work was done to remove dangerous (to BC Hydro lines) Poplar trees along the roadway and adjoining the Chilliwack Golf and Country Club this summer and the marker then stood out like it once did long ago.
As with all caches located near roadways please be careful when parking to seek this cache, and park well off the road. There is not a lot of room for parking so "PLEASE" be careful when exiting and returning to your vehicle.
Cache is a larger Bison Tube, please watch for muggles on and off the fairways when retrieving and replacing the cache
