Geocache Description:


This is our first cache. We have hidden this cache near a log dump that is owned by Federated CO-OP, but now is used for parking cars of the cabin owners to the north. There is also places to camp on the beach and in the forest, but watch out for wildlife in the area (deer are spotted often around this location). Federated CO-OP shut down this sawmill in 2008 due to heavy losses, but the outside ring of this log dump still remains.

There is a well used logging road that stretches from Sicamous to the end of Anstey Arm. This cache is on one of the small branches of that main road. You are able to either drive (AWD recommended) from Sicamous (45 minutes) or you can take a boat here from Sicamous (25 minutes). If you do take a boat be watchful of big rocks when you pull up on shore and watch out for the remaining logs. The road can sometimes be tricky to navigate so if you go that way make sure you have a map and be careful around the turns.

The cache is a rubbermaid container with a red lid and duct tape around the bottom. There are several plastic animals and bouncy balls in this cache along with one slinky.
