Zed! Traditional Cache
claybol: This one has gone walkabout again. Judging by the litter at GZ, it's clear that human activity is now common at this location, and so no longer suitable for a cache unfortunately. Sad to let this one go. Thanks to Romax for placing this cache giving pleasure to many finders over the years!

Our 500ml container is located within the boundary of a significant mining site which contributed in no small way to the enviable reputation of Bendigo's mining heritage and is now a popular tourist destination. Although the central city end of this site is usually closed to the public around sundown, 24/7 access is available from Energetic street, adjacent to the community vegetable garden. Our container holds the usual log book, pen, and some small trinkets for exchanging if so required, and is hidden in a typical fashion for this environment. Your journey to the proximity of GZ can be made via a well maintained walking track although the terrain level will increase noticeably should a more direct route be taken. This site is well worth exploring with items such as the original poppet legs, now an elevated observation platform, a stamping battery display, numerous informative location description signs, together with mechanical memorabilia and evidence all around of the mining activities that were carried out here back in those early gold rush days. Good luck, and enjoy your visit.
