A fun cache on another trail extension of the Portland Trails, who would have thought... Dedicated to the King of Town Line caches in Southern Maine. Trailhead: N 43 42.976 W 070 14.302 Bring your own pen to sign the log.
Behold - The great mystery of the lost town line! Here you will come upon a strange site indeed...a typical stand of trees, a beautiful wooded trail, and a seemingly out of place marker...using your advanced technological tools you may be able to find this unique area. Hidden away amongst the hustle and bustle of this busy town is a serene spot that you can reflect on the many wonders that geocaching can bring. Maybe you haven’t heard of the town “Daggett”? Certainly you are familiar with Falmouth, but maybe you didn’t realize there was this hidden spot? Well, not such a long time ago, you might have seen this town closer to the metropolis of Westbrook, but now it is here (and might be spotted popping up on cruise ships or casinos...) Like the famous Scottish legend of Brigadoon, you might stumble upon this, but you will unlikely be the intrepid “FTF” as descendants of the town of Daggett are still thought to be living very close by. (And it is said that finding a cache on each calendar day of the year gives you special powers!) Tread lightly while you are here, as others may visit, but please, daytime hours only - the many close by residents do not realize the importance of said marker...
