Raatakkers Multi-Cache

Bij het horen van de eerste merel was Aleena wakker geworden en niet veel later was ze opgestaan. In hun hutje sliepen haar 3 broers en zus nog, maar Aleena was klaar met slapen. Ze sloeg een warme vacht om haar heen en stapte naar buiten. De zon kwam net boven de boomtoppen uit en alles was nog klam en kil.

 

Aleena herinnerde zich ineens wat er gisteren gebeurd was. Aan het einde van de dag was ze achter wat vlinders aangelopen en op de akkers beland, waar de vlinders op wat bloemen waren gaan zitten. De zon was net achter de bomen verdwenen en Aleena voelde dat het begon af te koelen. Toen ze van de bloemen opkeek zag ze vlarden mist uit het bos komen. Eerst vond ze dat niet zo spannend maar toen de vlarden mist over de akker leken te dansen kreeg ze een beklemmend gevoel. Het leken wel de witte wieven waar haar tante Gwenyver wel eens spannende verhalen over vertelde! Ze was de vlinders helemaal vergeten en stond snel op om terug naar huis te lopen. Bij de eerste stap hoorde ze achter zich takken kraken, alsof daar iemand liep. Maar ze zag niets want de mist was ondertussen al dikker aan het worden. Zonder zich nog verder te bedenken was ze snel naar huis gegaan.

 

Nu ze in haar eentje buiten stond begon ze de warmte van de zon te voelen en de wereld zag er al veel vriendelijker uit dan gisteravond, ze ging maar weer eens bij de bloemen op de akker kijken...

A cache on a nice quiet spot, the Raatakkers (Square fields) at the Panoramaweg. These historic lands are often called Celtic fields but have nothing to do with the Celts, hence Raatakkers is a better name. This multi of 1.5 km is told through an adventure of Aleena, a story that is not necessarily historically factually correct. Parking at N52°00.565 E5°43.361.

On hearing the first blackbird Aleena was awake and not much later she was out of bed. In their hut her 3 brothers and sister still slept and only Aleena had finished sleeping, she pulled a warm coat around her and stepped outside. The sun was just above the treetops and everything was still damp and chill.

Aleena then remembered what had happened yesterday. At the end of the day she arrived at the fields when she was running up behind some butterflies who sat on the flowers when it suddenly began very cool. When she looked up she saw patches of fog coming from the forest. First, she found that not so exciting but when those fog patches seemed to dance over the fields she shuddered. It seemed like the Wise Women that her aunt Gwenyver sometimes told exciting stories about! She had completely forgotten about the butterflies and quickly got up to runt back. Within the first steps she heard branches cracking behind her as if there was someone. But she saw nothing because the fog was already getting fatter. Without further thinking she quickly went home.

The warmth of the sun became noticable now that she was outside and the world looked much nicer than last night, she was going to look at the flowers again...
